Bell, Rogers, Telus to release Blackberry Torch 9800 on Sept 24

Bell, Rogers and Telus announced all three wireless providers will carry the new Blackberry Torch 9800, and will be available to the public on Sept 24th.

Rogers announcement also included pricing for the device. The smartphone is slated to be available for $199.99 on a 3yr voice+data plan starting at $45/month.

The Torch has a QWERTY slide-out keyboard with a 3.2-inch (8.1 cm) touch screen.  BlackBerry latest operating system  and browser version 6, will be available on the Torch promising improved Internet browsing. It has a 5MP camera and built-in GPS and Wi-Fi with 4GB of built-in memory with a microSD slot, expandable to 32GB.

The new Torch is supposed to do what the Storm 9530 wasn’t able to do, become the ‘iPhone killer”.
