Wind Mobile Launching Blackberry Pearl 9100

Confirmed rumours from mobilesyrup seem to indicate Wind Mobile will be launching the Blackberry Pearl 9100 later today (Sept 3).

According to the report, the smartphone will be priced at $320 without a contract.

The Pearl 9100 will be the second Blackberry Smartphone Wind Mobile carrying, along with the Blackberry 9700 that’s been available since their initial launch.

Bell, Rogers, Telus to release Blackberry Torch 9800 on Sept 24

Bell, Rogers and Telus announced all three wireless providers will carry the new Blackberry Torch 9800, and will be available to the public on Sept 24th.

Rogers announcement also included pricing for the device. The smartphone is slated to be available for $199.99 on a 3yr voice+data plan starting at $45/month.

The Torch has a QWERTY slide-out keyboard with a 3.2-inch (8.1 cm) touch screen. BlackBerry latest operating system and browser version 6, will be available on the Torch promising improved Internet browsing. It has a 5MP camera and built-in GPS and Wi-Fi with 4GB of built-in memory with a microSD slot, expandable to 32GB.

The new Torch is supposed to do what the Storm 9530 wasn’t able to do, become the ‘iPhone killer”.

Carey Price to Holdout?

According to an article on canoe.ca, there are reports Montreal Canadiens starting goalie, Carey Price might holdout if the Canadiens front office do not meet his contract demands.

The article says, CBC reporter, Michel Godbout, is reporting on his Twitter account, Carey Price who has been without a contract since July 1st, will sit out if he doesn’t get a $3 million per year contract.

Montreal traded away their # 1 goalie, Jaroslav Halak this off-season to the St Louis Blues, after carrying the Habs to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Montreal Canadiens front office have no comments on the story.

Looks like it’s going to be an interesting year in Montreal.

Rogers, Fido, Chat-R Text Messaging woes

Rogers customers sending SMS (Text messages) to non-Rogers (Rogers, Fido, Chat-r Wireless) customers are experiencing long delays when sending and lost messages.

Some clients are reporting delays of upto 12 hours, while others are reporting messages not being delivered at all.

This issue has be going on and off, for about 4 weeks.

Rogers does not have an ETA as to when the issue will be resolved.

SAMCRO returns September 7th!

The 3rd season of FX’s Sons of Anarchy will premier September 7th, 2010. From the online reports, season three will focus on the roots of SAMCRO.

Hal Holbrook will be playing Gemma’s father for at least 4 episodes in the new season. Stephen King too will make appearances on the show in season 3.

Can’t wait for the new season to start!
