“Please verify your email address and password” – Blackberry / Gmail

If you have ever tried to add your Gmail account to your Blackberry, but were getting the following error:

Please verify your email address and password. The information you provided is incorrect. If the error persists contact gmail.com (your email provider).

Here’s the fix:
1. Confirm you are entering the correct username and password (by successfully logging into Gmail on your computer’s web browser).

2. Unlock the captha account by visiting the following URL:

https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

3. Once you have unlocked the captcha, retry configuring the e-mail account with your blackberry using the Blackberry Web Client (BIS).

    You are the man! Found your fix via google search. Spent 2 frustrating hours trying to figure this out on the phone and in gmail yesterday before finding your blog. I can’t believe how easy of a fix this was, and I really can’t believe there is nothing on BB or Gmail about this. Thanks a ton!
